Ghasemi Brothers: Big Fish
Dastan is pleased to announce an exhibition of solo and collaborative works by Ghasemi Brothers titled “Big Fish” at Dastan+2. The exhibition will be open for public viewing from February 21 through March 13, 2020. The exhibition, featuring a large number of collaborative works along with a handful of solo works, is the third presentation by Morteza, Sina, and Mojtaba Ghasemi Sheelsar at Dastan. In addition to their solo exhibitions at the Basement, their collaborative work was previously featured in “Blue Room” (V-Gallery, A Dastan:Outside Project, February 2018) and in “Red Room” (Dastan’s Basement, July 2016). Moreover, in July 2019, they participated in “Bahith” (seeker) at Gazeli Art House, London, and in October 2018, in Condo Unit Athens at The Breeder. Also, in April 2017, Roya Khadjavi Projects hosted “Red Room 2: Migratory Birds” in New York’s Elga Wimmer Gallery. To Illustrate the collaborative works of Ghasemi Brothers looking on the path which they followed can be significant. If considering “Centerfold” of Reza Aramesh as the starting point of these works, the “Red Room” can be recognized as a milestone where their energy and capabilities initially were explored and acknowledged. Their next show, “Blue Room” was the result of focusing on their mutual technics and themes. The "Big Fish" project follows the same process.
